60 years of Freedom - Happy Indian Independence Day
Here's Wishing everyone a very Happy Indian Independence Day. 15th August, 1947 was the day India got her Independence from the British. And here we are 60 years hence, making good progress on the long winding road to success.
Well success has different interpretations. For me India breaking out of the shackles and becoming a free economy is success, that we are the fastest growing economies in the World is success, that we have become an important factor in the IT revolution is success, that some of the richest people are Indians is success, that we have had the most beautiful women in the Miss World and Universe competitions is success, that we are moving towards an unmanned mission to the moon is success. I could keep going on and on and yet there would still be many more things we need to do.
For instance the economic success of a few has created a wide disparity between the middle class and lower class. There is a growing need for clean water, afforestation, newer medicines and vaccines, breakthroughs in Science, good education, upliftment of the poor, and cutting the red tape and bureaucracy which is still prevalent in India. I think these issues almost always take a back seat and we need to keep them in mind.
But for today let us first bask in the glory of the nation that we love dearly-India. India, the cradle of civilization and culture.
The sounds of Vande Mataram are the sounds we want to listen to today. Look at the following article where both the Bengali and Hindi(Devnagari) versions are given:
1. Wikipedia
2. Maa Tujhe Salam - A.R.Rahman's own rendition of the song
3. Video on Indian History - Made by a couple of friends at UT, Knoxville
Apparently there is also a Telugu movie titled Vande Mataram made in 1939.

60 years of independence( but where are we).i love my country as a true patriot, wish u all happy independence day .
But here i want to give you some facts and need your help to aware people about all these things.
1) All though indian economy is soaring but is the rise in sensex can help millions of indians who cant earn their daily bread also
2)latest human development report estimates that only 31 percent of the population in india has adequate sanitation facilities.
3)since june 1, 2005 to aug 26,2006 782 farmers in vidarbha commited suicide
4)as low as 61-67 millions to as high as 89.64 -90 millions 0f indian population is illetrate.
5)2.5 millions of indians are suffering from aids.
i know its not the write time to discuss but please help me to aware people about all this.
if we look at the history ,india was a collectivist country but now more of individualistic.
i want that we as a true indian should contribute to fight aginst rising red tapism, aids etc and try to uplift the status of primary education.
will contribute more if you people want.
do reply your views to me on my mail.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

There is no country like India .... we do have our problems but we still manage to stand above them. We accept all as they are : we respect each others ideas what ever they are. That all starts from the home: we can only repect oters if we respect our family members.
India will shine there is no doubt about that_ and it will grow. Its true when we say" mere Bharat MAHAN" for India is truely great

I love India and would love to see India as the most advanced and prosperous country of the world.
But we are all upbeat for all the wrong reasons and say that India is on the way to becoming the economic power, the world power and the one of the most developed nations. But lets think over.
1. All the big industrial houses like Tatas, Birlas, Bajajs and what not of over 50 to 100 years of existence have achieved for India so far. After the East India Company, these houses have become traders. No creditable international product has been brought out by these czars of Indian Industry. The products brought out by them be it Indica, Scooters or Motor cycles are way behind in quality as compared to Toyota, Nissa, Volkswagon, General Motors, Honda etc. etc.
2. Likewise with 60 years of independence, whenever we need to modernise Armed Forces we invariably import from. We have not achieved anything on this turf also. I cannot see how any country be a super power if it has to import all the high tech weapons.
3. Yes, atomic deterrent is highly creditable.
4. We call ourself an IT super power. Our big IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc. also have the same bug as Tatas, Birlas and Bajajs. They are the software labour companies supplying labour (software) to other developed companies. Probably none have any creditable product. The companies to whom they supply software might all of a sudden get new labour companies from China, Russia, Brazil etc. and then where these Indian companies would go? Our IT companies are just like the labour contractors supplying labour to a company constructing road, building or a bridge. The main company has the choice in labour supplying companies. In the same way the main companies like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle though taking labour from Infosys etc today, can abandon Infosys tomorrow.
5. Most of our industries are based on trading, they export raw materials and import finished products and make a profit. And they are so much successful that to have become amongst the richest in the entire world. And this is giving rise to unforeseen, unheard disparity. May be under its own weight it would crumble one day like the czars of russia.
6. We must control the population at every cost or we will be controlled by it and ultimately disintegrate.
7. We need to find a renewed way to unite ourselves as we are becoming too much regional, too much divided on religious, language, casts etc.
And many more...
Happy Independence day to all.

Each and every time we the Indians say " I Love India". The thing is that before saying that we have to make India as a loveable country.
Before breaking a red light on the road, we have to thing " I Love India".
Before neglecting a old age person, we have to think " I Love India".
Before making robbery , murder any antisocial work , we have to thing "I Love India".
Before each and every thing which related to our "country people" we should thing " I Love India"
Then only we can say "I Love India"

now we r in 60 years of independence ,but when we r looking back & follow what we have achieved in 60 years, we think that we r developing so fast, but don't we think the most of the rural area of our country doesn't have electricity, food or what ever we need to live a simple life.we r only developing in metros ,in information technology, in making money. but we should know that to be developed we need to work on the rural india instead of the urban area .something that we all have work. so let's do soimething for our nation.WE R THE ,WE WILL THE BEST.CHAK DE INDIAAAAAAAAAAAAA

It feels great to c so many people feel the inner surge as i do whenever i hear Vande Mataram and Jan Gan Man. and i must say that v r all proud indians today..probably better than the earlier generation which shied away frm things that were "DESI". but are v seeing the negatives...do u guys know that millions of indian rurals are still earning Rs.25/- a day..and they hav to take care of their families...did u know that there r still areas in india waiting to be recognised as zilla parishads and districts...did u know that with the growth in our economy we also face a growth in the number of Old Age Homes, Orphanages, Divorce Cases and Abortion Cases everyday...did u know that the government thats building more and more IIS, IIT, IIMs but nothing is being done to provide funds for research activities in all fields including Science.....did u know that the pride we feel of our graduate turnover but many villages do not even have a proper school or a college for the children....v r proud of our corporate endeavours and indian executives making global marks but hav we seen an increase in the people going for the Indian Armed Forces or Administrative Services....We talk about our world renowned knowledge bank and capacity but rnt we turning a blind eye on the lack of proper municipal libraries....we r the most powerful cricketing nation today...but hav we asked our kids to play other sports...we talk about our ranjhi trophy mathes and the indian stars...but did u all know that the Maharashtra Volleyball Association had to loan money from sports lovers (Rs.80,000) because they did not have enough funds to train their team for the National Level championships....V say politics is dirty and corrupt...but did we take any action after making a "Lok Paritran"....we say in films like Nayak that we r curropt frm top to bottom..but dont we bribe the traffic constable to let us go b'cos v havnt done the PUC....we were slaves to a foriegn company...and our leaders fought for us to enable a free india wherin v can easily travel on "Foot Boards" of buses....and also do business...but rnt v allowing ourselves to b slaves once again to MNCs...in our business schools today we talk about enterpreneurship...but how many of us are ready to take the challenge that Jamsetiji Tata took...we talk about equality for women...but r they really treated as equals....
Guys this may sound as a speech of a Politician...but these r matters which we have to open our eyes to and work on ut in our own small way....We are sure that we will achieve our Ex-President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's 2020 vision for India....Lets all make a difference in our own small way...b'cos as they say in hindi "Boond Boond se Samundar Banta Hai"..please excuse me if i have made any mistakes...my intentions are as honest as urs....
Jai Hind!!!!!!
