Quote of the Day

The best we can do is breathe and reboot. '

My favorite lines

I read these lines a long time ago in one of my the emails my cousin had sent me and fell in love with them instantly. I had also used them in one of the articles I had written for my undergraduate school. I was browsing through the article today and found that these lines become more meaningful as one becomes older. How true! We often tend to overlook so many things in everyday life that we forget to enjoy it as it is passing by. The best gift that anyone could give himself would be the joy of enjoying life to the fullest everyday.

" Many years from now, when you look back at the life that you have lived, the goals that you have achieved, the roads that you have traveled and the people you have touched, you should have one regret that you cannot get back and do it all over again. "

Fear and Hope

Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And good things never die.

Get busy living or get busy dying.

-The Shawshank Redemption, 1994

A movie that can be seen over and over again.....

Science

'Science is a way of looking, reverencing. And the purpose of all science, like living, which amounts to the same thing, is not the accumulation of gnostic power, the fixing of formulas for the name of God, the stockpiling of brutal efficiency, accomplishing the sadistic myth of progress. The purpose of science is to revive and cultivate a perpetual state of wonder. For nothing deserves wonder so much as our capacity to experience it.'

--From the Preface of the book Molecular Modeling and Simulation by Tamar Schlick. Originally by Raold Hoffman and Shira Leibowitz in Old Wine, New Flasks: Reflections on Science and Jewish Traditions (W.H.Freeman, 1997)
